Summercamp06

This summer troop 840 went to Camp Woodruff for summer camp. It rained on the first two days but the rest of the week was full of fun and activity which included merit badge classes such as rifleshooting, sailbouting, and horseback riding, and campfires. Many thanks to Uncle Lee who ade sure we were safe on the range when we were having fun showing off our shooting skills. There were also opportunities to go rafting on the freezing Nantahala and Okohi rivers. Also, to fill our bellies with raw nutrients, was the Woodruff cafeteria were you could look forward to hard chicken, tasteless pancakes, rubber like eggs, and so many other Camp Woodruff delicacies everyday of the week.We need to thank our thoughtful leaders for the pork roast, hamburger, hotdog's, sausages and a variety of delicious snacks that saved us from starvation. Then there was the faithfull trading post where scouts could buy they're scouting needs or some suitable dessert. Even though everyone was rained out of the exiting campfire we had a warm goodbye from the camp consolers. So, with lifetime memories of fun activities and what food shouldn't taste like, we set off on the movie-less 14 hour trip back to our home city of Miami.
